More Black and White Portraits

Are you the next Banksy

A competition run by the One Small Seed magazine was about creating a social/political work that is innovative and speaks out about the youths opinions. I created a installation on the steps of Cape Town City Hall, the location where Nelson Mandela gave his freedom speech. My work is about freedom and the diversity of races in South Africa. I made over 1000 origami butterflies that symbolized the flight of freedom. The colours represent the colours of the different races and is put in the South African flag shape. yet as the flag moves up the steps the butterflies intergrate and take flight. A piece about the segregated past, the intergrating present and the mixed future.

Lollypop Girl

Lollypop Girl is a 3D paper character i made in first year. I decided to let her have her own photoshoot and included the GermJanitor for extra personality, as well as the stuffed animal:) I love making tangible characters that are simple yet effective.

Print Making

My first Lino print work. It was about celebrating South African Brands and i chose Lucky Star pilchards.

I found a friend, illustraction

My first attempt at Illustrating my own characters. A child has found his imaginary friend in the attic. Which is a smarty laned wonderland that this creature lives in.

Unpacking the Bag

Unpacking the bag is a series of charcoal drawings exploring material and composition.

Expanding the Narrative

A little something I worked on called Expanding the Narrative. Pencil Drawing with a light blue gouache for the hazard signs. It is a contradictory piece of this man smoking and one can see the land is bear and dry. Mainly concerning the issues of the effects of smoking on one's self and the earth.
