Are you the next Banksy

A competition run by the One Small Seed magazine was about creating a social/political work that is innovative and speaks out about the youths opinions. I created a installation on the steps of Cape Town City Hall, the location where Nelson Mandela gave his freedom speech. My work is about freedom and the diversity of races in South Africa. I made over 1000 origami butterflies that symbolized the flight of freedom. The colours represent the colours of the different races and is put in the South African flag shape. yet as the flag moves up the steps the butterflies intergrate and take flight. A piece about the segregated past, the intergrating present and the mixed future.
